Schäferei Heidesee: a one-pager for a new residential quarter
Design-led WordPress one-pager for the new residential quarter Schäferei Heidesee in Friedersdorf, Brandenburg. Twelve custom Elementor widgets translate a Figma design faithfully into code, with scroll-driven image curtains, organic blob masks, a construction-phase timeline and an accessible contact form.
Die Herausforderung
A demanding Figma design had to be built in WordPress, faithfully and maintainably, including effects that no stock widget provides (scroll-driven image curtains, organic blob shapes, an animated timeline). At the same time, the client needs to be able to edit all content herself. I delivered the entire project as the sole developer: the child theme, all twelve custom widgets, the WordPress setup and the translation of the design into code.
Die Lösung
A custom child theme with twelve hand-built Elementor widgets (PHP), instead of rebuilding the design from stock blocks: header, hero slider, intro statement, metric circles, topic panels, construction timeline, FAQ accordion, CTA curtain and more.
– Scroll choreography in vanilla JS: hero slider, a rising CTA curtain and a revealing timeline, each with a prefers-reduced-motion fallback.
– Organic blob masks via CSS masks and SVG, swappable per breakpoint (desktop/mobile shape).
– Design tokens (colours, type scale) centralised in CSS custom properties; DM Sans self-hosted, without a Google CDN.
– Accessible contact form with visible focus and screen-reader labels.
– All content editable through Elementor controls (repeaters for slides, metrics, milestones). Out of my own quality standard, the widgets are also built to be translatable (WPML-compatible), even though the site stays single-language.
Das Ergebnis
The new quarter now has a distinctive web presence that deliberately stands apart from the usual real-estate template, and one that the client maintains entirely herself.
– Distinctive, not off-the-shelf: the design was built as bespoke widgets, not clicked together from stock blocks. The site looks like the project, not like a theme.
– Editorially independent: the client changes text, images, figures and construction phases herself through clearly structured fields, without a developer.
– Privacy-friendly: fonts hosted locally, only essential cookies, no tracking by default.
– Cleanly built: translatable widgets (WPML-compatible) and prepared for AI search, extensible without rebuilding the site.
