WordPress development by a freelancer — the solution that fits your project.

I have been building WordPress websites for over 15 years — with Elementor, an established theme or a custom-built block theme. What we use is decided by your project, not my preference: budget, team, and how the site will be maintained. Based in Berlin, self-employed since 2011.

The problem

Most WordPress problems start with the wrong fundamental decision.

Too complex for the team that has to maintain it — or too rigid for what the business is planning: most websites don’t fail because of technology, but because the solution doesn’t fit everyday work. That’s why I don’t start with a technology but with a question: who will work with the site later, and what does it need to do? Only then do we decide — page builder, block editor or a custom theme.

How it works

What you get

Four things you can count on — whichever foundation we choose.

The right foundation

Elementor, an established theme or a custom block theme: I recommend what fits your project, budget and team — and tell you honestly why.

Maintainable for your team

Your editors change texts, images and pages themselves — without a developer, and without fear of breaking the layout.

SEO & GEO built in

Semantic HTML, linked schema markup and fast Core Web Vitals — so Google and AI search understand who you are and what you offer.

Accessible by default

WCAG 2.2 AA is not an add-on for me but the quality baseline — mandatory for many sites since the German BFSG anyway.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The most common questions about process, cost and technology.

What does a WordPress website by a freelancer cost?

It depends on the scope — a focused company site costs less than a multilingual portal with custom features. As a freelancer I work without agency overhead: you pay for development, not for layers of project management. Tell me briefly what you have in mind and you will get an honest assessment within one working day.

Do you work with Elementor or other page builders?

Yes. I work with Elementor and other page builders as well as with hand-built block themes — and choose the tool that fits your project and budget. Page builders shine when your team wants maximum design freedom; a lean block theme wins on performance and maintainability. I advise honestly instead of pushing one technology.

How long does a website project take?

A typical company website takes a few weeks from concept to launch — depending on how quickly content and feedback flow. After a short initial call you will get a concrete timeline.

Do you take over existing WordPress sites?

Yes — no matter what they were built with: Elementor, Divi or the block editor. After a short audit I will tell you honestly whether a rebuild pays off or a fresh start is cheaper. Ongoing care for existing sites is also possible — updates, security and further development.

Can the website be multilingual?

Yes. I implement multilingual sites with WPML — including clean hreflang markup so Google matches each language version correctly. All content remains translatable in the editor.
