The Loud House

Nickelodeon commissioned the programming of a Microsite with a Javascript based step sequencer for the American animated series “The Loud House”.

The Task

“It’s going to get loud!” That was Nickelodeon’s motto while creating the step sequencer celebrating the release of brand new episodes of the animated series “The Loud House”. Various funny sounds from the series could be combined into a beat.

Besides gamification elements such as the step sequencer, the website featured information about the new episodes, a video gallery, and a contest.

The design was created by Thomas Lehmann from Fingerzeig in Photoshop.

The Implementation

The responsive website was implemented in Nickelodeon’s in-house content management system. Using a REST-API, videos from different points of the CMS could be brought together to form a video gallery. The programming was based on HTML, SCSS, JQuery, and Javascript.

Programming of the step sequencer was a special challenge. The high-performance playback of the audio files on the end devices was made possible thanks to the Javascript audio library Howler.js.
