In collaboration with the "Metagate" agency team, we created an information website for the association "Do Something for Europe e.V" for the European Parliament elections in 2019.

Die Aufgabe

In the search for a professional freelance WordPress web developer to support their in-house programming team, the advertising agency "Metagate" turned to me. With the approaching European Parliament elections in 2019, a website was to be created for the Pro-Europe information campaign of the non-partisan association "Do Something for Europe e.V". The central part of the campaign (supported by the likes of Martin Schulz and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf) was supposed to be a flag generator. It enabled users to design their unique European flag with a personal statement, which they could later download or share. Besides the flag generator, the website featured plenty of information and videos concerning the European Parliament elections in 2019. The design was created in Sketch by the Scholz & Friends Group.

Die Umsetzung

The collaboration with the agency’s developer team was partly in-house and partly remote. Thanks to our regular meetings, as well as communication and project management tools such as Slack and Trello, we were able to ensure an effective work environment and a successful procedure. The project was created in WordPress and programmed classically with HTML, PHP, CSS, and Javascript. We paid special attention to ensuring a high-performance hosting since the media attention would attract many visitors.
