Die Aufgabe

Comedy Central developed a 360-degree marketing campaign in collaboration with the Berlin branding agency "Die Botschaft", which was all about slightly modified well-known terms, thus sometimes entirely reworking their meaning. For this campaign, they needed a responsive landing page, which would enable the users to engage in such creative word games themselves and then download the results as memes or share them directly on the Internet. The design was created in Photoshop by the agency "Die Botschaft".

Die Umsetzung

The website was implemented in WordPress with a custom theme. The page templates were created using PHP, HTML, SCSS, jQuery, and Javascript. The highlight of this project was the programming of the meme generator. The users’ word creations were rendered onto HTML Canvas through Javascript. Subsequently, the user could change the colors and name the meme, which could finally be downloaded or shared on the various social media channels.
